Bravus

Bravus businesses

Bravus operates five businesses in regional Australia. While our operations are diverse, they share a vision to deliver energy for an advancing world. We are an integrated pit-to-port group of businesses, we provide energy responsibly to the nation and the world.

Providing sustainable energy solutions

Bravus businesses extract thermal coal and produce renewable energy and transport it efficiently.

We are motivated by the transformative impact energy has on the developing world where it helps people emerge from poverty and improve their lives. Both the coal and renewable energy that our businesses produce are needed as the world transitions to a low carbon future.

Our businesses create jobs and opportunities for Australians. The economic benefits from mining and infrastructure are catalytic, enabling further development and growth across the country - and especially in regional areas.

The royalties and taxes we pay as Australian businesses help to fund infrastructure and services, such as hospitals, schools, and roads.

Reliable baseload power

Reliable baseload power

Thermal coal is an affordable energy source that is used to produce reliable baseload energy and a heat source for manufacturing. Thermal coal from central Queensland is high-quality coal with low ash and low sulphur content. Galilee Basin coal, including coal from our Carmichael mine, is more efficient and produces fewer emissions than coal from some other markets, such as Indonesia.

Renewable solar energy

Renewable solar energy

Solar farms produce renewable energy at scale. Our Rugby Run large-scale solar farm is among the most efficient and best performing in Australia. According to, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, solar farms will play a significant role in helping Australia achieve its Renewable Energy Target in 2020.

Port operations

Port operations

Efficient port operations enable Australia’s vital resources industries. The North Queensland Export Terminal and Abbot Point Operations enable the export of Queensland’s coal produced by some of Queensland’s leading mining companies to the world. High-volume, multi-user port facilities are essential to the nation’s productivity and prosperity.

Enabling infrastructure

Enabling infrastructure

The Carmichael Rail Network provides a link from the resource-rich Galilee Basin to the existing Newlands rail system in Queensland. The approximately 200km narrow-gauge Carmichael Rail Network transports coal to the North Queensland Export Terminal. It features almost 320,000 sleepers and 26,400 tonnes of Australian-made steel rail.

Adani operations in Australia

Bravus is part of the Adani Group which is headquartered in India. Each of our companies benefits from the international strength, technological excellence, and innovation of the Adani Group.

Among the Adani Group’s key strengths is the diversity of its businesses, which span energy and utilities, transport and logistics, airports and ports, finance, data centres and agribusiness.
